An alumni of Ippolitov-Ivanov Institute, Yuri is an expert in medieval music and is an experienced performer on Cuban, Brazilian, Arab, Indian, African and European traditional percussion instruments. As a member of Pekarsky Percussion Ensemble, the most famous contemporary percussion ensemble, he participated in numerous international and Russian festivals; he is also a long-time collaborator of many Russian ensembles, orchestras and soloists.
